Motorola Bluetooth H710 Headset [Retail Packaging]

Got this thing because I carry the phone in the left front pocket and if driving have to take seat belt off, get it out, put belt back on then talk. This was too much work. Now I just answer the call and talk hands free. Works quite well. No problems for me. It does it's job.

I bought this headset a few months ago after reading through many reviews and so far I have nothing but great things to say about it. The connection is great, the caller's voice is loud enough, you can easily connect it to your cell phone, I haven't had any calls drop and the length of talk time seems sufficient. I also decided to buy this model over the newer one after reading some comments about how this one was better than it's new versions.

If I had to say one negative thing about it...that would be the ear piece doesn't seem to feel like it securely clips to your ear. HOWEVER, I have very very small ears and that could be part of the problem too. Although, the headset doesn't fall off despite the fact it doesn't feel like it's a snug fit.

In conclusion, I definitely think you will be happy with this headset and it's a great price!

This headset works great. I have had some complaints from the person on the other end when I'm in a noisy setting, or in my kitchen doing dishes, kids talking nearby, etc. It picks up all of the background noises they don't usually hear on the other end of the phone. It works great in a quiet, normal setting, like driving in a car, walking in the grocery store, etc. Overall does a great job, is comfortable, stays on and I like that it folds to turn off or on so it isn't accidentally on.

The price I paid for these headsets was 60% less than reatail in local stores (e.g. Verizon, Walmart). They work just lke the full price ones I've had & the value is much better!

If you are one person in search of good headset, believe me, you are not alone! There has always been a great challenge in finding a good headset.
I have tried Plantronics Voyager 510, Voyager 520 and a model in Motorola already(don't remember the model number). I am an iPhone 3g user and I had problems with 510(it is having old bluetooth version). Then I tried 520 which is good in automatic standby mode, light weight, charge withstand time etc., But the volume wasn't good enough even when I travel in a car.

Then I considered Aliph's Jawbone, some other plantronics models and finally landed on Motorola models. While reading the reviews, though there are other models in motorola like 715, 721 etc., this model 710 released earlier seem to have got best comments. ONce I got it, I am very pleased to use this considering my bad experience with other headphones:

Pros--

- Enough volume to hear even in some noisy environments.
- Both parties on the call are able to hear clearly without any problems
- Hold battery for a long time
- Very easy to pair

Cons--
- None so far :)

i own this headset and i have never had a problem with it. i used it with a motorola phone and loved the fact that when my phone rang it would ring according to the ringtones i had set within my caller id for certain people. i really liked that it did that because i did not have to look at my phone to see who was calling. now i have the samsung impression and i am sad to say that the feature does not work with it. but i do agree with all of the other reviews when they say the volume is excellent, it is easy to program, turn off and on and it is very comfortable in your ear.

Exactly what seller described product to be. Definately worth every cent. I use it throughout the day, I drive for a living and need my hands free and this product is wonderful. I would Definately buy it again and have already recommended to family, friends and coworkers!

Bought one for my dad and one for my mom. Dad's works great. Mom's didn't work at all. Waiting for replacement.

Technically it is a good product. However, it is not for small ears. It was difficult to keep it attached my ear, it was constantly slipping.

Great range. Comfortable. Easy to use and connect. Only thing was it is a little loose on the ear, but that is a small thing. I would highly recommend this item.

I upgraded from the H500 to the H 710. SO glad I did. Great product.

I've had the H710 for 9 months. Voice recognition has never been accurate if there is any noise (e.g. inside a moving vehicle). After a few months, it would not respond until after several prompts, even with a fresh charge. Now it will not respond at all until after manually dialing my cell. Some voice prompts are unrecognizable. It would not sit securely on my ear, although my ears are on the small side. I don't have a need to chat all the time, so charge time was not an issue for me. Dropped calls were not frequent, however that could be due to the fact that I wasn't on the phone a lot. I used the H710 with 2 phones - its operation seemed better when using it with a Motorola Razor; perhaps it was due to the fact that the device was new at that time, or maybe better compatibility due to the common manufacturer. About 5 months after I purchased it, I started using the H710 with my 2nd phone (HTC Smartphone), and its reliability has steadily declined. I'm expecting it to die any time. I would recommend the H710 only if you want to throw your money away.

This product seems to work as advertised! Imagine my surprise! It's simple to use and very convenient. I like it! When I checked other sources for this product, I found Radio Shack had the highest price, and Amazon had the lowest. I recommend it highly!

I have bought the H710 for my picky wife, and she loves the convenience, ease, sound, quality of the product. It is the second Motorola model bought. The first one lasted 5 years and only replaced because the ear wrap got worn down. I would recommend this H710 to even the hardest pickers.

It's an okay bluetooth for what it is. However, the battery life is kind of bad. It seems like I have to charge it everyday. If you aren't going to use it a lot, it may be okay for you.

Had its predecessor; can't think of the model number at the moment. Bought a new one because the battery failed to hold a charge after awhile. While the new one looks nearly identical to the old, the one flaw means it's going to get RMA'd: random bluetooth disconnects.

This is a great little headset. I like all aspects of it, except the battery doesn't hold a charge for very long.

I'd avoid this product unless you don't mind buying a new one every eight months or so. Purchased one on Amazon in mid-2008. In April of 2009 it stopped working correctly; I could hear them but they couldn't hear me. Called Motorola, they sent me a replacement as the original had a 1-year warranty. Unfortunately, the same problem happened to the replacement after 8 months. Called Motorola again; after being dropped multiple times by their automated system, finally talked to a live human. Seems that the replacement only had a 90-day warranty! So I won't be buying another H710 ever, and will strongly consider whether I want to trust any other similar Motorola models.

So far so good. I have had this for a little over a week and it has performed well. I need to wear it everyday for work so even though I have not had it long it has been used a lot. I hate wearing any kind of ear piece but this has been the most comfortable yet. After about 8 hours it starts to annoy me a little. I can hear & understand others on the line and they can hear & understand me.

Sound quality is good and holds a charge for a long time. Comfortable and easy to setup. I previously owned a Plantronics earpiece that actually fit inside the ear. This one fits over the ear and is more comfortable. Good product for the price.

THIS IS MY 4TH UNIT IN THE PAST 3 YEARS. I GUESS I WEAR THEM OUT AS I AM ON THEM 12 HOURS A DAY.

The H710 is an excellent product. I've been using it for over a month now and use it at least once a day for an average of roughly 10-15 minutes. I still have yet to recharge the battery! The reception is outstanding and those that I speak with say it sounds very clear. The only negative comment I have is with the voice command functionality - the unit has difficulty at times identifying the correct command, though I'm not sure how it compares to other devices in its class. The headset is very comfortable to wear as well. I would highly recommend this product.

This is the best bluetooth headset ever made. I owned two different sumsung models and the ear peice were uncomfortable plus the way you had to charge them was a big hassle. The Motorola Bluetooth H710 is very comfortable, easy to charge and very reliable, there is no static noise in the background and the person at the other end can hear me loud and clear! I have purchased three sets for friends and relatives! I recommend that you buy directly from Amazon though because if the price sounds to good to be true, it's because it is, trust me! Fast and free shipping also!

Be aware if you're ordering the H710 for under $30. Sometimes these are knock-offs and not original Moto's.
I owned a H700 which was great, for several years, and then decided to get a newer version...the H710. The first one I received was horrible on both ends (reception for the caller and the person you're talking to). I suspect this one was a knock-off since the 700 I previously owned was so much better....plus there were certain characteristics about it that were different from the original Motorola I had. I returned it (through Wireless Unlimited), and was sent a replacement, which was much better.
As far as the actual device goes, they are so comfortable that you forget you have it on. It can easily be worn all day long, and the call quality is pretty good at both ends....probably not as good as other much more expensive bluetooths, but very good for the price.

For some reason, people can hear me fine, but they sound very robotic to me. Sometimes they will sound clear as a bell, but then it will go back to the garbled robotic sound again. Lately, I've started getting very nasty 'snapping' sounds whenever I've tried to use it. It is fully charged, but still doesn't seem to work well. Whether it's the device or the Ocean 2 phone itself, I don't know. I've had other issues with my phone, as have other people who have the Ocean 2, so until I try another bluetooth device, I won't know.

The headset provides good sound and clarity. Fits well and is light weight. At full volume you can feel spurts of air coming through the headset as words are being heard. Volume adjustment fixed that. Charges quickly.

Works very well. Fully compatible with my iPhone 3G. My only reservation is that it doesn't hold a charge for as long as anticipated. Frequent AC recharging is needed.

This is the way to use a cell phone. In the past I had nothing but disdain for those that walked around looking like they were having insane conversations with themselves. At the very least they looked like big dorks. With my new H710, I'm right there with them.

My new motorola cell phone is sometimes difficult to hear even with the volume turned all the way up. So I thought I'd try a headset which puts the sound directly in my ear. The nice thing about the H710 is that no part of the headset fits into the ear - it all goes on the outside of the ear canal. And, I can hear even in noisy environments.

I figured I'd use this thing in the car and leave it there. No way. I use the headset everywhere (unless I'm in public - don't want to look like a total dork). This is one of those things I wished that I'd bought years ago.

This particular model is very easy to use. It connects very easily with my Motorola cell phone. There are three buttons to figure out. Two are volume up and volume down. The other is to initiate a call or answer a call. The H710 is so comfortable on my ear that I sometimes forget it's there. Once you get one, you'll never want another.

Product is great. Better then my HS850. Sound is good, size is good. It stays on my ear better then the HS850. It makes little noises when you turn it on and off, which my previous one did not. Lights up green when it is charged (red when it is not). I could not see myself buying a $130 headset that could easily end up in the washing machine like the last one did so this is prefect. A little longer to get in the mail then I wanted to but otherwise a great purchase.

It is so comfortable, I always forget I have it on. Unlike some others, that
have this knob sticking in your ear, the Motorola H710 is just smooth against
your ear, and the sound quality is great!
I also love the fact that it is SO easy to turn on and off. Instead
of having to press a button and waiting for it to turn on or off, you just
open or close the boom, and voila!
Even after not using it for a day or two after charging, it is still ready
to go when I pick it back up again. I don't have to charge it again.
This is the only headset I will ever buy. I have been spoiled.

Very pleased with the overall quality of this unit. The sound is good and it is easy to place on and off your ear. It also has a much more substantial clip that fits around your ear that is less likely to break (like my last bluetooth). Looks pretty sharp too. A bit more expensive than most, but worth every penny.

This is my first Bluetooth unit and it has proven to be very easy to use with good sound. I have no problem hearing on it and the other party has no problem hearing me. It is also quite easy to use.

Easy to use, loud, good noise cancelling. But was getting disconnected often, horrible batter life.

Very comfortable as no ear bud which goes inside your ear.

Had to return and now amazon do not carry it.

I looked quite a bit for a device that could be hearing aid compatible and this one fit the bill without breaking the bank. Most others were $100 or more and I just couldn't go there. I have in the ear hearing aids and this device sits on the ear so it doesn't block the air flow from my hearing aids. Most other devices go into the ear like a headphone which doesn't work for me. Voice quality is good and volume is decent. My only difficulty has been in figuring out the controls on the device. I would certainly recommend this headset, especially for the price.

I started with the Motorola H700 when I bought my Blackberry 7100i. I purchased 2 of them; had horrible issues with both. Any background noise and the person on the other end couldn't hear me at all. Also about half the time, when I would make a call and the headset would connect, the phone wouldn't release - it was like the worst voice distortion unit made. I could hear the person I was calling just fine through either the phone or the headset - AT THE SAME TIME - but although they could hear me, they couldn't understand me at all. I was told it was a malfunction in my headset, so I bought another. Same thing. I then tried the Jawbone, and that just hurt my ears. Warily, I purchased the Motorola H710. Wow, what a difference! Got the comfort, and no issues with people hearing me or voice distortion! Oh, and it does say 200 charges, but I have had mine for just over 1 year, wearing it constantly and charging it about every 2nd or 3rd day (depending on how much talking I do), with no significant loss in talk time or standby so far.

If you are more active, I have found that by using clothing tape behind my ear it stays much more securely. That being said, the tape does make it a little more trouble putting on/taking off eyeglasses and sunglasses. It really is so light you forget you are wearing it - and prior to using the tape, I almost lost it in Lake Michigan because I forgot I was wearing it when I leaned over the side of our boat!

It is boating season again here, and I am buying a second headset, just in case I do lose this one. It has made itself invaluable to me, since my phone is so awkward to hold up to my ear. It really is the best headset out there for hearing and being heard, and for comfort and ease of use.

Excellent device - previously bought model without mouthpiece and it kept turning on - this model is better & very easy to start using right away.

This is a great headset. I miss placed my other and ordered the same one. I like the flip open activation. The sound quality coming in and voice out is great. It also doesn't have anything that you have shove into your ear...the headset just lays against your ear.

The Motorola H710 is the best Bluetooth I ever used. Very easy to program and it automatically turns on and off when you open and close the bluetooth. It is very loud and the person at the other end also hears you loud. You dont have anything sticking in your ear that is very un-comfortable. The bluetooth just rests against your ear. It is so light weight that I forget I am wearing it. This is my 4th bluetooth. I lost the first one and purchased two others from Verizon that I had to return because of lots of static and one that would not fit in my ear. The H710 is the one I would recommend to everyone.

I've had occasion to try out a number of bluetooth headsets; in my opinion, this is the best. It's lightweight and comfortable, yet secure enough on my ear that I'm not constantly worried about it falling off. The sound is so good at either end of the conversation, that after a while neither I nor my connection are aware that I'm even using the device. The controls are also large enough and easy to find and use without fumbling, and the battery life really is extraordinary. Of course I've only had it a month, so it remains to be seen how durable the unit will be, but aside from that, I am completely satisfied.

I like this BlueTooth headset a lot. It only is on when you flip is open so I keep it off, in my pocket until someone calls. It connects fast and the sound quality is great. This is the first Bluetooth that I didn't have to keep on full volume--it is loud and clear so you don't need to blast it in your ear. Great pruduct.

I love my bluetooth and you can't beat the price! Would recommend to all my friends and family. Received my product within a week of ordering. Very happy with my purchase.

The product is very good if it works. However, you could find one where the mic doesn't work. The other party can't hear you, although you can hear them.

The 710 Bluetooth seems to work fine now,the first one they sent me was defective. I sent an email to DNL and Amazon and returned the 710. It was replaced no questions asked and my shipping was refunded.I am very happy with the service I received and the treatment I got.Everything was done in a timely manor. I will continue to do business with Amazon,A very trustworthy company and they take care of their customers.The 710 is working great, money well spent.

I love this headset. I have had it for a couple of weeks now and it has worked without a hitch.

I bought this bluetooth device to replace the previous model. The noise canceling it great, but I think the audio clarity is not quite as good as the previous model... it sounds muffled at times.

Very happy with this product. It's user friendly and very reliable. "Keep up the good work Motorola".

Nice earpeice. Really good sound quality and people say they can hear me very well too. My only gripe is time to connect to phones and the dual phone function seems a bit tricky, but that could just be me. Overall a solid performer.
